The Research Centre for Longevity Risk is growing. We are inviting applications for two postdoc and two PhD positions to join our team of talented and motivated researchers with an interest in quantitative and economic aspects of longevity.
We are looking for candidates who would contribute to one of the following projects:
- Effects of epidemics and pandemics on life expectancy;
- life expectancy at advanced ages;
- reinsurance of longevity risk;
- redesign of pension provisions;
- improved portfolios in response to changing survival rates.
Successful candidates will be part of our interdisciplinary team with access to state-of-the-art research facilities. You will help in developing mathematical models for demographic trends and medical developments, as well as studying the impact of local socio-economic conditions and the quality of our living environment on longevity.
Candidates will aim to generate research that can be published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and will also be expected to communicate implications of the results to a broader audience of policy makers and society as a whole.
Postdoc positions
During the two-year position, you will conduct research and be included in the teaching of the school’s programs. Applicants must have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD degree in Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Statistics, (Applied) mathematics or related fields.

PhD positions
During the four-year PhD trajectory, you will follow PhD level courses, plan and conduct your PhD research and contribute to the teaching of the school’s programmes. Masters’ degree in Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Statistics, (Applied) mathematics or related fields (preferably a Research Master´s or equivalent).
